Katherine Louise White

Katherine Louise White, 78, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026.

Born on July 16, 1947, Katherine was the beloved daughter of the late Charles “Speedy” Hawks and Vera Wava Simcox Hawks. She lived a life centered on family, love, and simple joys.

Katherine was a 1966 graduate of Virginia High School in Bristol, Virginia. She worked as a dental assistant before dedicating 20 years of service to Arby’s. She was known for her warm heart and nurturing spirit. She loved eating out on picnics, hosting tea parties with her granddaughters, and creating special memories with her family. Above all, she cherished her grandchildren, who were the greatest joy of her life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Hawks Horne.

Left to treasure her memory is her loving husband of 53 years, Thomas “Tom” White; her daughters, Jennifer White and Renee Nisewonder (James); her son, Tommy White; her grandchildren, Samatha Wright (Zach), Katie Singleton (Tyler), Emily Nisewonder, and LillyAnn Nisewonder; great-grandchildren, Hunter Wright, and Natalie Singleton; her brothers, Charles Hawks and Eddie Hawks; as well as one niece and four nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Knollkreg Memorial Park in Abingdon with Pastor Tommy Wilson officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the graveside by 1:45 P.M.

Katherine’s love, devotion, and gentle spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
