Kate Parris Murray, 80, passed away at her residence on Monday, October 17, 2022.
Mrs. Murray was born on July 6, 1942 to the late Joseph and Elizabeth Parris.
Mrs. Murray was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved arranging flowers, working on the farm with her late husband, and cooking for her family and friends. Above all, she loved and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Selldon Murray; five brothers, Dave Parris, Luther Parris, Buddy Parris, Hunter Parris, and Tommy Parris; four sisters, Irene Moore, Dorothy Parris, Betty Parris, and Maxie Murray; one-granddaughter, Keelie Simone Murray.
Survivors include three daughters, Kathy Beamer and husband Steve, Donna Brownlow and husband Billy, Denise Countiss and husband Henry; one son, Artie Murray; three grandchildren, Samantha Salyer and husband Jamie, Owen Countiss, and Nolan Countiss; three great-grandchildren, Marley Salyer, Bennett Salyer, and Camilla Salyer; many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, October 21, 2022 at Mountain View United Methodist Church Cemetery, Abingdon, VA. with Father Jon Hermes officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:45 P.M.
