Karen Rose Greenwell, 65, of Bristol, Va., passed away on Friday, April 16, 2021, at Abingdon Health & Rehab Center.
Karen was born in Bristol, Va., to the late Earle Proctor Rose and Bertie Reynolds Rose. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her partner, Steve Cousins.
Karen loved her family and lived a life of dedication providing for them. She was a wonderful homemaker and later in life was a caregiver to her mother until she passed away. Karen was always welcoming and loving to everyone she came into contact with throughout her life. She enjoyed her time at Virginia Tech and was a lifelong fan.
She is survived by one son, Josh Greenwell and wife, Alysha; and one aunt, Nell Norton.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Abingdon Health & Rehab including the administrators, nurses and CNA’s for the care they provided to Karen.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m., Monday, April 19, 2021, at Community Baptist Church, 1505 Broad St., Bristol, Tenn., 37620. A funeral service will follow at the church with Pastor Todd Crusenberry officiating. Committal service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday at Campground Cemetery in Bristol, Va. Those attending are asked to gather at the cemetery by 10:45 a.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts can be made to Community Baptist Church, 1505 Broad St., Bristol, Tenn., 37620, and noted to be used for the Table Food Pantry.
In accordance with Covid-19 regulations, the funeral home requests the use of face coverings and social distancing practices while attending the services.
