Judith “Judie” Todd Hines

Judie Todd Hines 80, a lifelong resident of Lexington, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 with her daughter at her side. She was born on April 13, 1940 to the late Grover Cleveland Todd and Ruth Holland Todd Sutton. She was raised by her paternal grandparents, the late Ollie Gibson and Phoebe Mae Oder Todd. Judie was a member of Grace Baptist Church and a 1958 graduate of Lafayette High School. She worked most of her career as an Executive Secretary. She was an avid Kentucky Wildcat fan and worked for Coach Adolph Rupp during the school year and summer of 1958. She is one of the longest UK Basketball season ticket holders; having held season tickets for a consecutive 62 years. One of her fondest memories was a trip with the 1997 University of Kentucky Basketball team to the “Maui Classic” in Hawaii. In addition to UK sports, she enjoyed music, gardening and had a special love of horses and all things “Bluegrass”. She was a devoted and loving Mother and Grammy and always had a smile for anyone who would look her way. She was preceded in death by her infant sister, Ann Holland Todd, her daughter Debra Hines Berryman, son-in-law James (Bo) Berryman, and a half sister, Darlene Todd Pritchard of Florida. She is survived by her son, Michael Glenn Hines, her daughter, Mindy (Robert) Bonin, two grandsons, Robert Alan Hines and Ashby Bonin, and a half brother, Thomas Todd of Lake Mary, Florida. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 18 th from 11:30 a.m. -1:00 p.m. at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Main Street, Lexington, Ky., with services starting at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the Lexington Cemetery.
