John Wayne Jackson

John Wayne Jackson, age 83, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025. He was born on February 7, 1942, to the late John and Virginia Jackson.

John was a faithful member of Shiloh Freewill Baptist Church and worked as a mechanic at Bill Gatton for 30 years. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who took great pride in his family. In his spare time, he enjoyed baking and woodworking.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill, Phil, and Arlen Jackson, and his son, Danny Jackson.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Linda Jackson; two daughters, Amy Thomas and husband Billy, and Angie Leonard and husband Bruce; four grandchildren, Andrew Hale, Joey Hale, Billy Thomas, and Gracie Leonard; three great-grandchildren, Lauralye Hale, John Hale, and Samuel Thomas; one sister, Linda Dowell; and one brother, George Jackson.

The family will receive friends at any time at the home of Angie Leonard.

 Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at North Bristol Baptist Church in Bristol, Virginia. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Travis Ingle officiating.

Interment will take place on Monday, October 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Valley View Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include Andrew Hale, Joey Hale, Billy Thomas, Greg Jackson, Keith Taylor, and Freddy Jackson.
