Mr. John Stuart Casey, Sr., 97, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born April 19, 1925, in Holston, Virginia to the late John Wesley and Minnie Younce Casey. He was a faithful member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Ora Lee Casey.
John is survived by one son, John Casey, Jr. and wife Donna of Meadowview, Virginia; one daughter, Debra Wohlford and husband Gerry of Meadowview, Virginia; four grandchildren, Robin Odum and husband Matt, Robert Venable, Crystal Brown and husband Michael, and Casie Pardue; six great-grandchildren, Courtney, Cara, Kyler, Rylea, Edi, and Zia; one sister, Cleo Pierce of Abingdon, Virginia; two brothers, Jennings Casey and Dean Casey; special niece, Fran Griffin; many nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends Thursday, November 3, 2022, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Fellowship Baptist Church, 14221 Ravenswood Drive, Meadowview, Virginia, 24361. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 P.M. with Pastor Chad Johnson and Reverend Chad Morrison officiating. A graveside service will be held Friday, November 4, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Forest Hills Memory Gardens where full military honors will be rendered by the Highlands Veteran Honor Guard and the United States Army. Those planning to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:45 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fellowship Baptist Church food bank.
