Joanne Hall

Abingdon, Virginia

Joanne Hall, age 69, passed away surrounded by her loving family on May 16, 2024 at her home. Joanne was born on March 14, 1955 in Russell County Va, to the late Frank and Dorothy Hall.

Joanne loved her animals. She also loved going to Pigeon Forge, TN with her children and grandchildren. Joanne loved all music and was a loyal Elvis Presley and Dolly Parton fan. She loved the Lord and was dedicated to reading her Bible every night. Joanne was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was the heart of Christmas with her family. Joanne played a powerful role in her granddaughter’s life that has special needs.

In addition to her parents, Joanne is preceded in death by her son, Jamie Jones; two brothers, Billy Hall and Darrell Hall; one sister, Patsy Widener.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Tammy Neal (Benny) of Blountville TN, Amy McCann of Glade Spring VA, Tommy McCann of Abingdon VA.; six grandchildren, Billy Jones (Kourtney), Nikki Goodson (Shane), Dakota Jones (Hannah), Haley Musick, Gracie McCann, and Dylan Jones; four great grandchildren, one sister, Kay Hall of Abingdon, VA; a very special sister-in-law Hilda Canter of Abingdon, VA; also, several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the Cancer Center in Abingdon, VA. for their doctors and nurses and the excellent care they have, as well as hospice with Ballad Health for their exceptional care they gave and M.D. Anderson of Houston, TX.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at Frost Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 P.M. officiated by Pastor Dan Birchfield. Procession will follow after the service to Forest Hills Memory Gardens.

Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
