Jimmy R. Bowman

On August 7, 2023 the world lost an angel and heaven gained one. Jimmy R. Bowman,50 of Abingdon, VA lost his life unexpectedly. Jimmy has been often described as thoughtful, caring, gentle, fun and loveable. Everywhere you went people always formed and instant bond with Jimmy. He will be long remembered for his playful antics and his generosity. He would and often has given his last dime to someone in need. He was currently employed at Appalachian Casting in Abingdon, VA. A job which he thoroughly enjoyed. He always spoke highly of his co-workers. Jimmy was preceded in death by his mother Cletis Bowman, maternal grandparents Ollie and Mandy Tignor and his unforgettable cat, Rascal. He is survived by his long time soul mate Judy Kay Miller, stepfather Guy Arnold who raised him since he was four, his father Butch Bowman, three brothers Kimmy "Dude" Bowman (Diane), James Eddie Bowman and Garland Bowman. Several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Jimmy was especially close to his aunt Jane Arnold and cousin Linda Rose Cardwell. Jimmy was always upbeat, happy and always offered up his precious little grin. A celebration of Jimmy's life will be held graveside at the Greendale Chapel Cemetery 16391 Rich Valley Rd, Abingdon, VA on Saturday August 12, 2023. Graveside visitation will be from 1 to 2 pm. Honorary pallbearers will be his second shift co-workers at Appalachian Castings. Jimmy will be greatly missed by many.
