Jean South Calloway, 86, of Abingdon, Va., went to be with the Lord, Saturday, November 27, 2021, at NHC Healthcare in Bristol, Va.
She was a lifelong resident of Washington County, Va., and was employed at Harwood Manufacturing for many years. Jean was also a caregiver for several people over the years. She was a faithful member of Greendale Chapel for over 40 years where she was active in Vacation Bible School.
She was the daughter of the late Lonnie South and Lura Mae Bott South. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jim Calloway; son, Paul Campbell; four brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include her son, Jimmy Calloway and wife Lisa; daughter-in-law, Sandi Campbell; sister, Jane Smith and husband, Dean; grandchildren, Rusty Campbell wife (Jennifer), Jonathan Campbell wife (Christy) Brittany Calloway fiancé (Lee Roark) Billy Mays, and Jessie Mays fiancé (Nick Jarrett); great grandchildren, Abigail, Benjamin, Keegan, Kayden, Kaylan and Kira; several nieces and nephews; and honorary grandchildren, Aaron Greer and wife, Katie and Sarah Petty and husband, Tyler.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at Greendale Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m., at the church with Rev. Jerry A. Eggers officiating. Committal services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday in the Garrett Portion of Greendale Chapel Cemetery, Rt. 700, Abingdon, Va.
Honorary pallbearers will be family, friends and the men of Greendale Chapel.
