Janice Yvonne Hackler, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Bristol Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was a native of Scott County, Virginia and was the daughter of the late John W. Cox and Una Osborne Cox. She was also preceded in death by a brother, L. H. Cox; She had worked at the Johnston Memorial Hospital for numerous years and was a collector of Antiques; she had a love for reading and a true love for her entire family; She attended Damascus United Methodist Church.
Janice is survived by her loving husband, Jim Hackler; Three daughters, Lora Henderson and husband Don, Sheila Lopez and husband Wade and Cindy Hackler all of Abingdon, Virginia; a Half Sister, Lisa Nash of Abingdon, Va.; 5 grandchildren, Adam Henderson, Justin Lopez, Emily Henderson, Carrie Lopez and Carly Hargroves.
Funeral services for Janice Hackler will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at the Damascus United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Denton officiating. Entombment services will follow at the Knollkreg Memorial Park in Abingdon, Virginia on Saturday. Family and friends will go in procession to Knollkreg Memorial Park following the service at the church. The family will receive friends at the Damascus United Methodist Church from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service on Saturday. Active pallbearers will be Adam Henderson, Justin Lopez, Nicholas Totora, Kristen Henderson, Emily Henderson, Carrie Lopez. Honorary pallbearer will be Carly Hargroves.
