Janet W. Petty went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Ballad Health Hospice House in Bristol at the age of 82.
She was born on October 26th, 1937 in Abingdon Va. She was the only child of the late Howard and Mary Wagner.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ray M Petty Jr.
Janet was a 16-year employee of Highlands Community Services Board. Prior to HCSB Janet, along with her husband Ray, were owners and operators of Appalachian Foods in Abingdon, Va. Janet will be remembered as an amazing mother and a loving grandmother.
Janet is survived by her four children, son Don Petty and wife Lynn of Bel Air, Maryland, daughter Terry Arnold and husband Steve of Abingdon, Va.; sons Kent Petty and wife Jackie of Brentwood, Tenn. and Brent Petty and wife Cindy of Bristol, Va.; and her beloved grandchildren, Matt Petty, Josh Arnold and wife Katelyn, Samantha Petty, Tyler Petty and wife Sarah, Megan Blackburn and husband Josh, Jessica Petty, Hannah Petty, Morgan Petty, Danielle Petty and Emily Petty along with 3 very special great-grandchildren Allie Arnold, Paul Betts and Avery Arnold.
The family wishes to express its gratitude to the staff of Ballad Health Hospice House for their compassion and care.
The Rev. Sam Haynes will officiate the graveside service at Knollkreg Memorial Park at 1 p.m., on Monday, June 15, 2020. Family and friends are asked to gather at the cemetery by 12:45 p.m.
