James “Mike” Vannoy, 67, of Damascus, Virginia departed this life on Friday, April 21, 2023, at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 27, 1956 in Abingdon, Virginia to the late James “Curly” and Dorothy Vannoy. He worked at Valley Forge Wholesale in Elizabethton, Tennessee for over 36 years. He later owned Mike’s Auction House in Damascus for over 28 years.
In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by one brother, Terry Vannoy and his sister-in-law, Linda Vannoy of Denton’s Valley.
Mike is survived by his sister, Charlene (Maynard) Richardson of Damascus, Virginia; a special niece, whom he loved as his own daughter, Ashley (Nick) Sweet of Damascus, Virginia.
The family will have a Celebration of Life service Sunday, May 7, 2023, 2:30 P.M. at the Damascus Rescue Squad building in Damascus, Virginia with Pastor Danny Houchins officiating. A cookout to celebrate Mike’s trip to Heaven will follow the service.
