Jackie Lee Bland, age 70, passed away at Johnston Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, with his family by his side.
As we say goodbye to our husband and father, we want to remember how he lived life to the fullest. He was the proud owner of Jack’s Body Shop in Glade Spring and enjoyed projects like working on and painting several area driver’s race cars, including his and his son’s cars. Jack was one of the first members of the Glade Spring Life Saving Crew and was also a member of the Glade Spring Fire Department for many years. He enjoyed playing on the men’s softball league, both as a sponsor and a player. Jack will be missed by so many.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Giles “Jake” Bland and Waunita Bland; one daughter, the apple of his eye, Melissa Bland; and two sisters, Brenda Testerman and Patty Freeman.
Left to cherish Jack’s memory is his wife of 51 years, Arlene Bland; three sons, David, Danny and Chris; one brother, Mike Bland and friend Buffy; one sister, Sherry Mitchell; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Frost Funeral Home from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
