Mr. Jackie Allen Chafin, 69, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022 at the Bristol Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Chafin was born January 29, 1952 in Abingdon, Virginia to the late Paul and Ruth Chafin. Jackie was a jack of all trades, loved his family, and loved spending time with them. Above all he loved his grandchildren. Jackie was always there to lend a helping hand and loved a good challenge. A devoted Christian, Jackie was a member of Holston Valley Baptist Church.
Jackie is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 51 years, Glenda “Sue” Chafin; one daughter, Jaclyn Lowe and husband Kevin; one son, Chris Chafin and fiancé Kelly; seven grandchildren,,Caitie Hess and husband J.D. Madison Lowe, Ashton James Chafin, Lucas Chafin, Ashton Bailey, Madison Martin, and Payton Lowe; one great grandchild, Jackson Hess; one sister, Deborah Jones and husband David; one brother, Wayne Chafin, and wife Linda; many nieces and nephews also survive.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M at the Frost Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 7 P.M. with Pastor Harry Layell, Pastor Paul Ketron, and Pastor Jason Dunn officiating. A committal service will be held at 11 A.M. Friday, January 21, 2022 at Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:45 A.M.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jonathan Chafin, Jeff Chafin, Ashton Chafin, Brian Neely, J.D. Hess, and Kevin Lowe.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Smithers and the men of Holston Valley Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to Holston Valley Baptist Church 18396 Cleveland Rd, Abingdon, VA 24211.
