Jack Allen Roberts

Updated: Jan 4, 2023

Jack Allen Roberts, 85, of the Denton Valley Community went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Bristol Regional Medical Center.

Jack was born on November 7, 1937 to the late Roby F. and Martha Charlotte (Lottie) Roberts.

Jack worked for the Virginia State Highway Department until his retirement. He loved farming, working in his garden, and just being outdoors enjoying nature. He was happiest at home, surrounded by his family and never felt the need to be anywhere else. Jack was a quiet man, never wanting the spotlight, but was always the first one to be there to help out his family and friends. He raised both of his girls to love and fear the Lord and taught them how to work hard and serve others.

Including his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Roberts daughter, Debbie Eastridge; two brothers, Ron Roberts and Don Roberts; five sisters, Ruth Hibbitts, Nell Roberts, Grace Fritz, Rose Barrett, and Ardith Slagle.

Survivors include his daughter, Martha (Marti) Roberts of Santa Rita, Yoro, Honduras; grandson, Andrew Eastridge and wife, Jennifer of Abingdon, Virginia; son-in-law, Tim Eastridge and wife, Teresa of Abingdon, Virginia; a very special great-granddaughter, Marilyn Eastridge who brought immense joy to him from the moment she was born; two sisters, Lillian Gentry of Inman, South Carolina and Sharon Blackburn of Damascus, Virginia.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Denton Valley Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 6:00 P.M. with Pastor Tim Stevens officiating. A committal service will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Montgomery Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:45 A.M.

Pallbearers will be Andy Eastridge, Tim Eastridge, Sammy Price, Everett Stevens, Jimmy Fritz, and Timmy Childress.

In lieu of flowers, Jack wanted donations to be made to Denton Valley Baptist Church Mission Fund.

Jack’s family would like to thank the staff of Rehab Center and Memory Care at Bristol for their kind attention and care they gave him during the last months of his life. They would also like to extend a very special thank you to Mickie Price who loved and cared for him as if he were her own father.

Frost Funeral Home and Cremation Services is honored to serve the family of Mr. Roberts.
