Chief Petty Officer, C.T.R.C., Irvin Edward Rinehart, 98, born in Glenns Ferry, Idaho and resided in Abingdon, Virginia went to be with his Lord on November 3, 2021.
Irvin was a thirty-year World War II veteran who served in the United States Navy and National Security Agency as a chief radio operator/ cryptological communication analyst/ technician from August 28, 1941 until April 7, 1972. During that time, he received many honors, commendations, and decorations.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Basil and Ethel Rinehart and two brothers.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Shelia T. Rinehart; four children; seven grandchildren; his brother, Eugene Rinehart; several nieces and nephews also survive.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held in his honor at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at The Veterans Memorial Park in Abingdon, Virginia. with military honors.
