Ina Sullins

Ina Sullins, lovingly known as Nona, was born on August 7, 1938, in Russell County, Virginia to the late Woodrow and Lola Little. She entered eternity on December 21st having fulfilled the deepest and truest longing of her heart - to one day see the face of God.

From an early age, Nona’s life was anchored in faith. She was a constant reader of The Bible, having read it entirely many times. She was a devoted and faithful member of The Abingdon Free Pentecostal Assembly, where she worshiped regularly and cherished the fellowship of her church family. Her walk with the Lord was steady and sincere, reflected not only in her faithful attendance but in the way she lived - quietly, humbly, and with unwavering hope in eternal promises.

Nona was married to the love of her life, the late Charles Sullins, Sr., for 62 blessed years. Together, they built a life rooted in love, faith, and family, spending the majority of their years in Abingdon, Virginia. Their marriage stood as a testament to commitment, devotion, and enduring companionship. In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Nona was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.

Family was one of the greatest joys in Nona’s life. She delighted in time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, finding happiness in their laughter and comfort in their presence. Her love was felt in every meal she cooked, every garment she sewed, and every quiet moment shared. A talented seamstress and devoted homemaker, she found peace in gardening, nurturing life with patient hands, and took special joy in trips to Charleston, South Carolina, where rest and reflection refreshed her spirit.

Left to cherish her memory are her four children: Janice Sullins-Brown; Barbara Sullins-Brown; Becky Justice and her husband, Ron; and Chuck Sullins; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; two brothers; five sisters; several nieces and nephews; wonderful neighbors; many dear friends; and her cherished church family.

Funeral services for Nona will be held on Friday, December 26, with a public gathering beginning at 12:00 noon and services at 1:00 PM at Frost Funeral Chapel, 250 East Main Street, Abingdon, Virginia. A graveside service will follow at Knollkreg Cemetery, Abingdon, Virginia. Pastor Stacy Evans will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Shane Lester, Daniel Brown, DJ Hughes, Travis Shupe, Brandon Doss, and John Salyer. Honorary pallbearers will include family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Abingdon Free Pentecostal Assembly, 16274 Church Street, Abingdon, VA 24210. Email: holyliving@gmail.com.

Nona lived with her eyes fixed on heaven, and now her faith has become sight. Though she will be deeply missed, those who loved her find comfort knowing she has reached her eternal home and stands in the presence of the God she longed to see.

Frost Funeral Home and Cremation Services is honored to serve the family of Ms. Ina Sullins.
