Mr. Howard Franklin Poe, 85, passed away Monday, September 26, 2022, at his home.
Mr. Poe was born February 5, 1937, in Washington County, Virginia to the late Marion and Hattie Stevens Poe. He remained a life-long resident of the county and attended Central Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Juanita Thayer.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Judy Poe; a stepson, Shane Hall; one stepdaughter, Shannon Pridemore and husband Michael; two step grandchildren, Amber Pridemore and Hunter Pridemore; two nieces, Linda Barrett and Donna Weatherly; one nephew, Bobby Barrett; one brother-in-law, Wayne Thayer.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2022, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Frost Funeral Home chapel. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 P.M. in the chapel with Pastor Tim Stevens and Pastor Les Ketron officiating. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at 1:00 P.M. at Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Those planning to attend the graveside service are asked to arrive at the cemetery by 12:45 P.M.
The family would like to thank Palliative Care and Hospice and a special thank you to his caregiver Karen Helton for the care given during his illness.
