Homer Douglas “Doug” Casey

Homer Douglas “Doug” Casey, age 71, of Abingdon, Va., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at Johnston Memorial Hospital.

He was born May 12, 1947 in Washington County, Va., and had lived in the area his entire life.  Doug was a graduate of the Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind in Staunton, Va. He was one of few graduates to obtain his drivers license and purchase a car.  Doug loved doing word search puzzles and playing bingo.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mabel Lucille Casey and one sister, Marie Dodge.

Survivors include two sisters, Reba Wickham of Maryland and Carol Wood of Abingdon; one brother, Jerry Casey of North Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 2 to 2:45 p.m. Friday, August 10, 2018, in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel.  A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. Friday with Rev. Teddy Phillips officiating.  Interment will follow at Knollkreg Memorial Park with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
