Henry Hopkins Morrison, born April 2, 1915, passed away on June 15, 2019 at the age of 104 years at his residence in Meadowview, VA. He enjoyed farming and was retired from the Pet Milk Company.
He was the son of the late Samuel Lee and Birdie Owens Morrison. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Millie Gay Osborne Morrison; daughters, Mary M. Morrison and Leona Mae Stratton; three sons, Robert Morrison, Henry Morrison, and Leon Morrison; and one grandson, Timothy Morrison.
He is survived by his four daughters, Norma Morrison and Ann Morrison of Meadowview, VA; Dorothy Parris and husband Tom Parris of Woodbine, MD; Reba Morris of Oswego, IL; one son, Dean and wife Brenda Morrison of Meadowview, VA; two daughters-in-law, Jane Morrison of Hopkinsvillle, KY and Ulis Morrison of Abingdon, VA; one son-in-law, Dwight Stratton of Gate City, VA; as well as eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
A visitation will be held for Mr. Morrison from 1:00 until 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Frost Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM on Tuesday with Rev. David Critcher officiating. A graveside service will follow immediately after the service at Bethel Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons George Morrison, Dale Parris, Dwayne Parris, David Morrison, Darren Parris, and Merle Morris. Honorary pallbearers are granddaughters Cathy Freeman, Allene Sykes, Louise Basore, Robbin Taylor, and Tracy Bywater.
