Harold Lloyd Dunn, age 89 passed away on November 27, 2024, at his residence in Glade Spring, Va. He was born on January 8, 1935, in Damascus, Va to the late Robert Dunn and Hattie Blevins.
Mr. Dunn loved to fish and hunt at Bear Tree Lake with brothers, friends, and his son Bobby. He bought six and a half acres on Treasure Mountain in 1976 and built his home there in 2001 where he and his wife settled down and retired from Falls Church, Va. Mr. Dunn was a Christian man and prayed for his children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren every day.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Mary Catherine Dunn; one son, Robert Lloyd Dunn; one daughter, Deborah Kay Canter; one grandson, Justin Kyle Morris; and nine siblings.
Mr. Dunn is survived by his daughter, Teresa Dunn Morris; three grandchildren, Jessica Faidley, Ryan Canter and Shana Hancock; eight great-grandchildren, Tristan, Kairi, Leland, Sara, Brantley, Liam, Tyrion, and Xander; one sister, Wilma Miller. Several close friends and neighbors on Mount Calm and Echo.
A graveside service will take place on Monday, December 2, 2024, at the Sunset Memorial Park in Damascus, Va at 12:00 P.M. with Rick Vannoy officiating. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 11:45 P.M.
Ryan Canter, Tristan Faidley, Brian Hancock, and Leland Hancock will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Josh, Kairi, Sara, Brantley, Liam, Tyrion, and Xander.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations can be made to the Disabled Veterans Association, or the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
