Glenna Mae Botts

Glenna Mae Botts, 67, of Abingdon, Va., was united with Christ after fighting a long hard battle with cancer on Friday, March 8, 2019, at Ballad Hospice House in Bristol, Tenn.

She was born on November 4, 1951, in Abingdon, Va., to Sanford and Dorothy Arnold Botts. Glenna was a dedicated radiology and MRI technician at Johnston Memorial Hospital until she retired in 2016. She was a strong, hard-working, independent woman who made a lot of sacrifices to support herself and her family. Her unconditional love and support for her kids and grandkids will never be forgotten. Glenna’s faith and trust in God throughout her battle with cancer has been an inspiration to all who knew her.

Glenna was preceded in death by her father, Sanford Botts.

She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Botts; son, Jeff Gobble and wife Amy; daughter, Gina Counts and husband David; brother, Kenneth Botts and wife Frieda; sister, Loretta Bumgardner and husband Bo; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

The family wishes to offer a special thank you to Paul and Judy Newberry for their love, support, help and most of all their friendship to Glenna and her family.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, March 10, 2019, at Frost Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 12 p.m., Monday at Valley View Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Roger Phelps officiating. A funeral procession will gather at the funeral home by 11:15 a.m. Monday morning.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Gobble, Dallas Gobble, David Counts, Gray Mumpower, Bo Bumgardner and Paul Newberry. Liam Aguilar will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers do as Glenna always did and plant a seed when and where you can.
