Frances White, age 91, of Abingdon, Va., went to be with the Lord Sunday, April 28, 2019, at her home.
She was born October 16, 1927, in the Smith Creek Community of Washington County, a daughter of the late Henry White and Maude Harley White. She graduated from Greendale High School and Lloyd’s Beauty School. She was a cosmetologist for over 40 years and worked in several beauty shops and was an instructor at Lloyd’s Beauty School. She also was a caregiver and a member of Valley View Baptist Church. She will be sadly missed by many.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three sisters, Maxie Carswell, Virginia McCroskey and Ruby Andis; and two brothers, Warren White and Malcolm White.
Survivors include one sister, Daisy Wampler of Kingsport, Tenn.; special nephew and caregiver, Bobby McCroskey; and several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at 7 p.m. at the Frost Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry A. Eggers and Rev. Kenneth Widner officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:30 p.m. until time of the funeral service. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Valley View Baptist Church Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
