Our little angel has gone home. Frances Thompson, age 85, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2018.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Lucy Thomas; husband, Ribe Thompson; grandson, Adam Call; son-in-law, Ken Call; and siblings, Earl, Freddie, Ernestine, and Wanda.
She is survived by her daughters, Betty (Buddy) Gregory and Jeanette (Buddy) Ratcliffe; grandchildren, Jamey (Misty) Rhea, Mandi Gregory, Matt (Teri) Call, and Scott Call; great-grandchildren, Jamey, Candice, Alaura, Carly, Kenzie, Jayden, Brad, Kari, Evan, Kennedy, Bryson, Connor, Carson, Xander, and Charlie; siblings, Anna Cardwell, Jerry (Jan) Thomas, Larry (Peggy) Thomas, and Stewart (Pauline) Thomas; sisters-in-law, Ollie Thomas and Claudine Thomas; and dear friends, Polly Call, Chance Clark and Stephanie Farmer.
We would like to thank Jan Thomas, Rev. Kenny Gilbert, Derick Joyce, RN, Dr. Odeti, and all the staff that cared for her at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at Midway Chapel, 2633, Hwy. 107 in Saltville, Va. The funeral service will immediately follow with the Rev. Kenny Gilbert officiating. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January31, 2018, at Pine Ridge Cemetery in Saltville, Va. Pallbearers will be Buddy Gregory, Jamey Rhea, Matt Call, Little Jamey Rhea, Chance Clark, Darius Bowman and Jamie Keen.
