Frances Evelyn Widener, 83, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was born July 19, 1940, in Abingdon, Virginia, to the late Samuel and Vergie Mae Price. She was a life-long resident of Bristol, Tennessee and a loving mother who will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Richard “Pitch” Widener; three children, Kim Frye, Connie Tignor, and Marty Nelson.
Frances is survived by two sons, Michael (Julie) Widener of Piney Flats, Tennessee and Brian Widener of Bristol, Tennessee; seven grandchildren, Jordan Briana, Krysteanna, Bryan, Rena, Matthew, and Morgan. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 3:00 P.M. at Greenwood Cemetery in Abingdon with Brother Junior Gobble officiating. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 2:45.
