Evelyn Virginia Tate, 86, of Abingdon, Virginia, passed away on January 10, 2025. She was born to the late William and Gertrude Wolfe.
Evelyn was a dedicated homemaker who spent her life caring for her family. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Charles Tate.
A faithful member of the Antioch House of Prayer, Evelyn cherished her time at church, enjoying the fellowship of her family, friends, and especially her six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She loved hiking the Creeper Trail, camping, and traveling with her family.
Evelyn is survived by two daughters, Linda and Rosa; two sons, Lonnie (Sue) and Chris (Maxine); her cherished grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; one sister Eula Tolbert (Ed); three brothers, Earl Wolfe, Ralph Wolfe, and Troy Wolfe (Ruth); as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation for Evelyn will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Frost Funeral Home Chapel in Abingdon, Virginia. A service will follow with Pastor Jason Nunley officiating, and Roger Hearl opening.  A committal service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:45 A.M.
Evelyn will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
