Mrs. Evelyn Kimberlin Hagy, age 80, of Abingdon, Va., passed away on Monday, March 18, 2019, at Commonwealth Senior Living.
Evelyn was born on September 14, 1938, in Russell County, Va., to the late Dwight Scott Kimberlin and Lena Lambert Kimberlin. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Eveleen Fraley and sister, Beatrice Hagy.
She was a graduate of Greendale High School and Mary Frye’s Business School. She attended Carvosso United Methodist Church and worked tirelessly at the church, especially with the flowers. Evelyn and her husband enjoyed traveling. They had visited all the U.S. states and toured Europe.
Evelyn is survived by her husband, Harold L. Hagy; a sister, Bernice Keesling; brothers, Sherlock Kimberlin (Sue), Donald Kimberlin (Leigh), Wayne Kimberlin (Cheryl) and David Kimberlin (Myra) and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 12 to 1:45 p.m., Thursday, March 21, 2019, in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. with Rev. George W. “Bill” Breeding officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Kimberlin, Chuck Miller, Dwain Miller, William Miller, Richard Duncan and Steven Kimberlin.
