Evelyn Almeda Laih

Evelyn Almeda Laih, 73, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at her residence.

Born on July 7, 1945 in Washington County, Virginia, Evelyn was a daughter of the late Dixie Lee Cox Gobble and the late Willie Gray Allen, and stepdaughter of the late Bernand S. Gobble, Sr.

She was retired from Eastern Business Forms. Evelyn loved gardening and her two Yorkies, Scooter and Bo.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Grant Cooper and husband Randy of Easley, SC; one grandchild, Randall Brent Cooper and wife Kristen of Easley, SC; two great grandchildren, Aiden and Ella Grace Cooper of Easley, SC; two sisters, Brenda Self and husband Jay of Abingdon, and Linda Riffey and husband Bill of Abingdon; one brother, Randall Gobble of Abingdon; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Lee Gobble and Bernand Scott Gobble.

Visitation will be held Sunday, December 30, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Frost Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m., Sunday in the chapel with Rev. Jerry A. Eggers officiating. Burial will be held in Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers as follows: grandson Brent Cooper, Tony Gobble, Eugene Gobble, Edwin Self, Aaron Gobble, and Bob Martin.
