Eva K. Cunningham, 85, of Abingdon, Va., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, surrounded by her family.


She was born in Lebanon, Va., and had lived most of her life in Washington County, Va. Eva was retired from the Washington County, Va. School System after 30 years of service as a Business and Typing Teacher during which time she taught at both Patrick Henry High School and Holston High School. Eva was an avid reader and also enjoyed crossword puzzles and gardening.


She was a longtime member of Abingdon Baptist Church and attended the Friendship Sunday School Class.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Franklin Cunningham and one sister, Nancy Barker.


Survivors include her two children, Mary Sue Blevins and husband, Curtis of Troutdale, Va., and Robert Lonnie Cunningham and wife, Jo Ann of Abingdon, Va.; She is also survived by one grandson, Heath Cunningham.


Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m., on Friday, January 22, 2021, in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., in the chapel with Pastor Bill Bryan officiating. Interment will follow at Knollkreg Memorial Park. The funeral service will be available livestream at 2:55 p.m., via the funeral home’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/frostfuneralhome.


Pallbearers will be Mike Overstreet, Floyd Sutherland, Joel Brame, and Larry Payne.


In lieu of flowers memorial gifts are suggested to Ballad Hospice House, 1 Medical Park Blvd., Bristol, Tenn., 37620.


In accordance with COVID-19 regulations, all those entering the funeral home are asked to wear face coverings and follow social distancing guidelines.
