Eva Jean Mays Hall

Eva Jean Mays Hall, age 80, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023.


Eva was born on July 21, 1943 in Russell County, Virginia to the late Robert “Joe” and Leona Hazel Mays.


Eva was known for her love of canning, quilting, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


In addition to her parents, Eva is preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Scarberry; and second husband, Harold Hall; five brothers, Carl Mays, Mack Mays, Robert Mays, Dan Mays, and Arthur Mays; and her best friend, Gracie Alexander.


Those left to cherish her memory include her sons; Wayne Scarberry, Robert (Robbie) Scarberry, Billy Scarberry (Jenny), Harold Hall Jr. (Karen); daughters, Tammy Hutton (Steve), Vicky Alexander (Darrel), Janice Wilson (Thomas), and Delisa Adams (John); grandchildren, Becky Pippin, Thomas Scarberry, Allen Hutton, Heather Watson, Sharon Loving, Shelia Osborne, Carla Moore, Joshua Scarberry, Jennifer Roberts, David Casey, Danielle “DJ” Sons, Tamara Scarberry, Billy Jr. Scarberry, Morgan Seymore, Brittany Hall, Michael Roberts, Matthew Roberts, Mavrick Roberts; also several great-grandchildren; she is survived by her sisters, Sarah Perry, Katie Moore (Jerry), Louise Dean (Calvin), and Reba Sue Dillon (Michael); and several nieces and nephews.


The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 22, 2023, in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel, with a service to follow with Pastor Paul Price officiating. Committal service will follow to Forest Hills Memory Gardens.


Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons.


In lieu of flowers the family of Ms. Eva Hall asks that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
