Eula Vaughn Arnold


Glade Spring, Va.


Eula Vaughn Arnold “Bug”, age 100, passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at Abingdon Health & Rehab where she had been a resident for 5 years.


She was born in Meadowview, Va., to the late Charlie and Pearlie Mae Vaughn. Eula lived most of her life in the Plum Creek community of Glade Spring, Va. She was a graduate of Meadowview High School and the oldest member of Washington Springs United Methodist Church.


In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Scott Arnold; son, Edward Arnold; sister, Mildred Archer and brother, Charles Kenneth Vaughn.


She is survived by her son, Robert Scott Arnold, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Connie Arnold; grandson, Matthew Scott Arnold; great grandson, Jackson Arnold; and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to recognize her special friends and neighbors of over 40 years, Peggy Frye and her late husband, George. Eula was dearly loved by both sides of the families.


Services will be held at 2 p.m., on Friday, April 30, 2021, in the mausoleum of Mount Rose Cemetery in Glade Spring, Va., with Pastor Larry Lusk officiating. Those attending are asked to gather at the mausoleum by 1:45 p.m.


In lieu of flowers memorial gifts are suggested to Washington Springs United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 186, Glade Spring, Va., 24340.


In accordance with Covid-19 regulations, the funeral home requests the use of face coverings and social distancing practices while attending the services.
