Mr. English Walker “Dub” Leonard, Jr., 81, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at his residence.
Mr. Leonard was born January 19, 1941 in Washington County, Virginia to the late English Walker Leonard, Sr. and Cletis Virginia Webb Leonard. He was a life-long resident of the Brumley Gap community.
He is survived by his first and only wife, Betty Leonard; three sons, Rick Leonard of Abingdon, Virginia, Randy Leonard and wife Brenda of Inwood West Virginia, and Darrell Leonard and wife Talena of Abingdon, Virginia; two daughters, Jennifer Corn and husband Frank, Jr. of Mt. Airy, Maryland and Pammy Sue Lankford of Kingsport, Tennessee; one brother, Bill Leonard and wife Evlie of Abingdon, Virginia; one sister, Jean McCall of Abingdon, Virginia; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; friend, Dorothy Taylor.
A visitation will be held Sunday, August 7, 2022 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Frost Funeral Home in Abingdon, Virginia. A graveside service will be held Monday, August 8, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at the Webb Cemetery in Brumley Gap with Reverend Roger Hearl officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:45 A.M or at 10:15 A.M. at Frost Funeral Home to go in procession with the family to the cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Shayne Leonard, Justin Leonard, Seth Leonard, Mike Leonard, Randy Leonard, Jr., Shawn Corn, Frankie Corn, III., and Brandon Leonard.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Brumley Gap Fire Department, 19297 Brumley Gap Road, Abingdon, Virginia, 24210.
