Elmer Jackson “Jack” Snavely, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at home.
Jack was born on February 18, 1940 to the late John and Eva Snavely. He was a lifelong residence of the Washington County community. He enjoyed running the family’s country store, Snavely’s Store, for many years, but also spent 15 years working at Washington Farmers Co-Op/Southern States. Jack also enjoyed farming and tending to his cattle. He was a member at Mountain View Baptist Church in Meadowview and the Odd Fellows.
In addition to his parents, Jack is preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Samuel Snavely; and one sister, Betty Dye.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Betty Blackwell Snavely; one daughter, Debra Snavely; two granddaughters, Lauren McCroskey and husband Phillip and Ashley Foster; three great granddaughters, Whitley Kopp, Alyssa Kopp, and Virginia Betts; one great grandson, Clayton McCroskey; two sisters; Nancy Gay Farmer and Marie Yeatts and husband John; a very special friend, Archie Justice; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 17, 2023 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Frost Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 P.M. with John Yeatts and Rev. Mike Somers officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
