Ella Ruth Sullins Scott, 95, is now at Home in the arms of her Heavenly Father. She passed away at her home on Thursday morning, May 9, 2024, while surrounded by her loving family.
Ruth was a Godly example, prayer warrior, and inspiration to those who knew her. She faithfully attended Valley Chapel and Morning Star Church.
Ruth was born on May 30, 1928 to the late Wiley Sullins and Georgia Ritter Sullins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Beecher F. Scott; sisters, Florence Cross and Vonda Woodby; brothers, Johnny Sullins, Floyd “Bud” Sullins, and David Sullins; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, JC and Irene Scott.
Those left to cherish her memory include one son, Beecher Franklin “Frank” Scott Jr. (Carolyn); seven daughters, Patricia Ann Terry (Harold), Peggy Jo Gosnell, Zola Lowe (Hugh), Sue Tate (Lonnie), Jewel Harmon, Carol Mays (George), Glenna Reynolds (Neal); and one brother, Bobby Sullins (Nancy). Survivors also include, twelve grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, four step-grandchildren, five step-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Frost Funeral Home Chapel with a funeral service to follow at 8:00 P.M. with Pastor Tim Rhoton, Pastor Lyons Smith, and Shean Hobbs officiating. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at Counts Cemetery in Brumley Gap, those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:45 P.M.
Ms. Scott's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary Pallbearers will be sons-in-law, Gary Scott, Bennie Harris, Billy Mitchell, Dr. Mark Handy, and all of the men of Morning Star Union Church.
The family of Ms. Scott would like to give special thanks to Nurse Jill Baker and all the employees of MSA Home Health and Hospice.
