Edward “Junior” Clyde Hicks, 86, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.
Junior was born August 23, 1936, in Boone, North Carolina to the late Charles and Susie Hicks. Along with his parents, he is proceeded in death by his wife Helen Berry Hicks; son Kenny Hicks; brothers; Thomas, Ernest and Dexter Hicks, and sisters Betty Casey and Brenda Baumgardner.
Those left to cherish Junior’s memory are his daughters; Joyce Testerman and husband John and Lois Williams and husband James; sons, Earl Hicks, Henry Hicks and wife Joyce, Baxter Hicks and wife Violet; Grandchildren; Angie Price and husband Bryan, Tina Widener and husband Larry, Michael Hicks and wife Donna, Aaron Hicks and wife Nikki, Alicia Hicks, Tonya Paquette and husband Jeff, Lou Testerman and wife Jessica, Seth Testerman and Jed Williams; great-grandchildren, Matthew Price and wife Shannon, Teddi Testerman, Remi Testerman, Logan Hicks, Cody Widener and wife Kamiah, Ally Jackson, Cara Jackson and Cassidy Paquett; great-great grandchildren, Jamison, Charleigh, Elayson Price and Braelynn Thomas; and siblings, Johnny Hicks and wife Margaret, Barbara Testerman, Glenda Prater and husband Alton, Laura “Esther” Rutherford and husband Don, Mary Taylor and husband Bill and Debbie Keesee and husband Jack.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Frost Funeral Home in Abingdon, Virginia. A graveside will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Holston Conference Cemetery in Emory, Virginia with Pastor Mark Baumgardner officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to convene at the cemetery by 10:45 A.M.
The family would like to thank Caris Hospice, especially Miranda Johnson and all caregivers, for all of their help during Junior’s illness.
