Doris Ann Vanhuss Yarber




Abingdon, VA


In loving memory of Doris Ann Vanhuss Yarber, aged 81, who peacefully passed away on April 5, 2024 at her residence.

Doris was born in Washington County, Virginia, to the late John R. and Lettie Kiser VanHuss.  Doris was a faithful member of the Macedonia Church of Christ, where she remained devoted since childhood. 

 

Including her parents, she is preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters.

 

She is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, Riley O. Yarber, and their daughter Donna Yarber Reynolds with husband Tim, and son Kevin Yarber with wife Erin. Cherishing her memory are grandchildren Josh Reynolds with wife Courtney, Dylan Reynolds, and Liam Yarber, along with great-grandchildren Sophie, Sawyer, and Scarlett Reynolds. Her brother Harold D. Van Huss (Brenda) of Roanoke, Va., and two sisters: Linda Anderson of Independence, Va., and Janet McClelland (Herb) of Bristol, Va. Additionally, she leaves behind several nieces and nephews. 

 

 May her soul rest in peace, and her memories live on in the hearts of those who loved her. 

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 09, 2024 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Macedonia Church of Christ. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Macedonia Church of Christ starting at 11:00 A.M with Minister Ron Musick and Evangelist Donald Henegar officiating. A committal service will follow at Knollkreg Memorial Park.


In addition, the family expresses heartfelt gratitude to Home Nursing Company Inc. for their compassion, care, and guidance during Doris’ illness. A special thank you goes to a wonderful niece, Paula Rose, who provided loving care for Doris.
