Donnie Wayne Estep, age 67, passed away on January 2, 2026.
He was born August 16, 1958, to the late Dewey and Bonnie Estep. A lifelong resident of Abingdon, Virginia, Donnie proudly served as a truck driver for Mid-Mountain for 34 years and was a devoted lifetime member of the Green Springs Fire Department. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, dedication to community service, and his deep love for his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Freida Frances White Estep.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Melody Helton of Meadowview, Virginia, and Brenda Tackett; his sons, Charles Bentley and Kevin Tackett; his cherished grandchildren; his devoted granddaughter and caregiver, Ashley Bentley; his brother, David Estep and wife Teresa; his special nephew, Chase Estep and several extended family members, friends, and fellow truck drivers.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. at Frost Funeral Home in Abingdon, Virginia. Following the visitation, family and friends will go in procession to Mountain View United Methodist Church Cemetery, where a graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Junior Gobble officiating.
Pallbearers will include Andrew Howard, Matthew Howard, Jeff Hockett, Ken Gentry, Bill Russell, Armando Socarras and Jim Watson.
Honorary Pallbearers will include the truck drivers of Mid-Mountain.
Donnie’s legacy of service and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
