Donald Eugene "Don" Elam

Donald Eugene “Don” Elam, 67, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Johnston Memorial Hospital.  


He was born February 18, 1957, to Jean Warren and the late Hobart Eugene Elam.  Don worked at Berry Home Centers for 43 years and could always be seen on the jobsite operating the boom truck unloading various building materials.   Don will be remembered as loving son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend.


In addition to his father, Don was preceded in death by two brothers, Roger Elam and Michael Elam; one step-daughter, Amy Elam.


Don is survived by his mother, Jean Warren; one son, Jayson Elam; three step-children, Lala Mullins, Elizabeth Moore, and Faye Ramey; special granddaughter, whom he cherished and adored, Jade Elam; sister, Penny Smith (Terry); brother, Dennis Elam; special friend, Eulala Vanover.  Don is also survived by several step-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

  

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Frost Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Pastor Brian Reed officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:45 P.M.


Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.


Frost Funeral Home and Cremation Services is honored to serve the family of Mr. Elam.

Dear Aunt Jean, Penny & Dennis please accept our deepest sympathy for your loss of Donald. We are so glad we got to see him last year @ Sissy's family gathering. We will keep all who loved Don in our prayers for serenity. Love always, Glen & Shelley
