Dayton Allen Burke, 63, of Abingdon, Va., went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 11, 2021, at home surrounded by family.
He loved trucking and spending time with his family.
Dayton was preceded in death by his parents, Emmie and Vernie Burke; sister, Christine Roark and brother-in-law, Fred Roberts.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores Burke; daughter, Kristy Vandagriff (Patrick); grandson, Bryson; sister, Florence Roberts; brother-in-law, Robert “Buster” Roark; nephew, Tony Roberts (Renee); nieces, Beverly Balint (Kenneth), Tina Horne (Brian) and Marcie Sanders (Phil); two aunts; two uncles and several cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, October 14, 2021, in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Larry Wilson and Pastor Steve Vaughan officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Tony Roberts, Patrick Vandagriff, Chris Dolinger, Eddie Wise, Keith Myers and Jason Garland. Honorary pallbearers will be L.T. Hart Trucking, Buddy Clark, Lonnie Miller, Kenneth Balint, Brian Horne and Phil Sanders.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
