David C. “Red/Buddy” Clark, age 88, of Bristol, Virginia, passed away on June 4th, 2025. Born December 27th, 1936, in Abingdon, Virginia, oldest son of the late Cephas Clark and Lucille Clark Odum. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Lewis Clark; his son Jerry L. Clark; and two sisters Joyce Helbert and Bessie Lee Kestner.
Mr. Clark was a charter member of Antioch Baptist Church, where he served as Trustee and usher for many years. He retired from Reynolds Metal Company in 1999, and he also worked for Valleydale Meat Packers as Shipping Supervisor. In his early years growing up, he was a great roller skater and was good at water skiing, where he taught many both young and older.
He loved the Lord and gave him glory for a great life on this Earth with his family, church, and friends.
He is survived by his brothers Paul Clark (Judy) and James “Crow” Clark. He is also survived by a wonderful Christian lady, Una Fay Carbary, to share times with the last 23 years.
In addition, he is survived by grandsons Caleb Clark (Hannah), and Cameron Clark (Melissa); granddaughter Camille Bott (Aaron), several great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and in-laws Charlie Kestner, Oscar Lewis, Oneida Crowder, Peggy Theriot, and Glenda Lewis.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 9, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Antioch Baptist Church in Bristol, Virginia with funeral service to follow at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Josh Davis officiating.
A committal service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Monday, June 9, 2025, at KnollKreg Memorial Park in Abingdon, Virginia. Those wishing to attend are asked to be at the cemetery by 2:45 P.M.
Pallbearers will be the men of the church.
