Darrell Groseclose, 87, passed away on Friday, March 16, 2018, at Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was born October 18, 1930, in Washington County, Va. to the late Harry Owen Groseclose and Elsie Wright Groseclose. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Sara Ann Clark Groseclose; one son, “Little Darrell” Groseclose; three brothers, Snooks, Jim Kelly and Bill Jack Groseclose; and one sister, Brenda Morefield.
Darrell was a lifelong truck driver and loved to tell stories. He loved to hunt and fish and could often be described as the “life of the party”. He was a very proud family man and had a special fondness for his grandchildren.
Survivors include three children, Sherrie Stone and husband Brian; Sandy Groseclose and significant other David Copeland; and Stacy Groseclose and wife Angie; two very special grandchildren, Darrell “Houston” Burns and “Nikki Leigh” Johnson; two sisters, Peg Vaughn and husband Sam; and Nancy Badger and husband Freddie; two sisters-in-law, Eleanor “Kinky” Groseclose; and Nancy Hagy Groseclose. He is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, March 18, 2018, at Frost Funeral Home. Family and friends will then travel to Knollkreg Memorial Park for a graveside service with the Rev. Jerry A. Eggers officiating.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
