Daniel David Minton

Daniel David Minton, 86, passed away November 23, 2018 following a brief illness. Dan was born February 28, 1932 in Washington County, Va. to the late Gressie and Bertha Mock Minton.

Dan loved his pipe, reading and his canine companion Katie. He and his wife were well known for their rescue efforts of homeless animals and fostered/rescued hundreds of cats and dogs over the years. Dan was a U.S. Navy veteran, a quiet and humble soul whom treaded gently on this earth.

In addition to his parents, Dan is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley McDonald Minton and siblings Karl Minton, Clyde Minton, Bill Minton, Grayce Millsap and Pearl Franklin.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Special thank you goes to the care and support staff of Select Specialty Hospital, Bristol, Tn. for the care they provided.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m., Friday, December 7, 2018 at Frost Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry A. Eggers officiating. Visitation will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, Dan requested donations be made to an animal rescue organization of ones choosing.
