Curtis Ray Scott Sr.

October 15, 1943 – August 6, 2025

Curtis Ray Scott Senior, 81, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 6, 2025, after a battle with cancer.

 The son of William Ray Scott and Hazel Ruth Scott, he is survived by his son Curtis Scott Jr. (Kindra), and his daughter Shannon Osborne (McKinley). Curtis had three grandsons, Phillip Lester, Dillon Scott, and Hunter Osborne, whom he cherished dearly, and he also had a granddaughter, Elizabeth Scott, who passed during infancy. Additionally, he is survived by two brothers Ronnie and Clyde Scott, and he also had one brother Harold who passed before him. Curtis had several nieces and nephews, as well as a very special friend Grey Hamm. Lastly, Curtis had three best friends, Gary Davis, Dub Bare, and Johnny Hicks.

The Scott family thanks Johnson City medical Center and Caris Hospice for their diligent care, and thanks everyone—both family and friends—who assisted Curtis during his poor health. 

A graveside service will be held Friday, August 8, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at Blackwell’s Chapel Cemetery with Pastor Danny Medford.
