Connor Chandler Bartz, son of Shea and Chandler Bartz, passed away at his home on February 27th, 2019, after a two year battle with Ewing Sarcoma.
He is survived by his sisters Abby Bartz and Elise Carrigan, and brother-in-law Connor Carrigan. Connor is the grandson of Connie and J.B. Kinder, Clifford Bartz, and the late Judith Brown. He is the nephew of Suzanne and Jonathan Jonas, Donna and John Oesterheld, Kristina and Skip Rizzo, and Carol and Brent Kurz. Connor is the favorite cousin of Grace, Brett, Micah, Sage and Josie Jonas, Stephen and James Oesterheld, Louis and Matt Rizzo, and Juliana Kurz. He is the life long friend of Carol and Dominic Celozzi, Rachel, Lorianne and Andrew Walker, Jim, Jenny, Emily and Alison Horton.
Connor was a talented all-state level percussionist, pianist, and a proud member of the Abingdon High School Marching Band. Connor was also known for his sense of humor and wit, which remained with him until the end. He made a lasting impact on all he met, including his doctors, physician assistants, nurses and CNA’s, who cared for him at Brenner Children’s Hospital at Wake Forest Baptist Health. Connor’s celebratory concert will be held on Saturday, March 2nd, 2019, at State Street United Methodist Church, 300 West Valley Drive, Bristol Virginia at 7 o’clock in the evening.
In lieu of flowers, Connor’s family wishes for contributions to be made to the Ronald McDonald House of Winston Salem and Brenner Children’s Hospital department of pediatric oncology.
