Abingdon, Virginia
Connie Sullins Crusenberry, 70, made that crossing Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Thank God I have made it; my feet have touched the streets of gold. Waiting for me at the river was my dad, Paul Sullins.
I’m sorry for my family I’m leaving behind. Wipe the tears from your eyes and put on a smile. I’m home with Jesus now.
In addition to my parents, I was preceded in death by my husband, James Crusenberry, whom I loved with all my heart and soul.
I am leaving behind my beautiful daughter April Jones; I failed to tell you as often as I should have how much you meant to me; and her wonderful but crazy husband Scotty. My son, Cody, young in heart and spirit. I was so proud of you. You are a talented young man. And I love my “Lucy,” granddaughter Madison Jones. Remember Ganny will always love you.
Brother Paul “Buggar” Sullins and wife Molly.
Sister-sister Cathy Hahn and husband Fred. We laughed together, hurt together, cried together, and together we made it through. I’m waiting for you.
Loving sister Joan Tate and husband C.J.
A special sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Kyle Cullop. Thanks for always being there.
I was blessed with so many friends I can’t list them all but to Ethel, Sweetpea, Barbara, Brandy, Sally, Maudie, Nancy, Mary, Tay, Irene, Louise, and Little Debbie, thank you for being my friend. I loved everyone I met. Each of you had a special place in my heart.
Cody’s significant other, Reagan Stringfellow and Madison’s significant other, Cody Combs and his son Clayton Combs, who was like my great-grandchild; and special brother-in-law, Randy Crusenberry.
Special thanks to MSA’s Hospice Angels for all their loving care this past year.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Frost Funeral Home Chapel in Abingdon, Virginia. Funeral service to follow with Pastor Dalton Elliot and Brother C.J. Tate officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be C.J. Tate, Jonathan Tate, Jacob Tate, Chris Cullop, Kyle Cullop Jr, and Doug Cullop.
Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Crusenberry, Kyle Cullop Sr, Aaron Phillippi, and the men of Shiloh Freewill Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Connie’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee.
Frost Funeral Home and Cremation Service is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Connie Sullins Crusenberry.

I've known Connie and her family since I was a teenager. I always liked Connie--she had a beautiful personality. My father and her father worked together many years ago. May God be your Comforter in the days to come. Eula Clifton Helton
