Clara Booher Breeding, age 67, of Abingdon, Va., went to be with the Lord, Sunday, April 14, 2019, at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
She was born September 6, 1951, in Bristol, Va., to the late Rev. Harry D. Booher and Frances Tallman Booher. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by one sister, Mary Elizabeth Booher; her father-in-law, Wilk Breeding and one brother-in-law, James Breeding.
Clara lived in Russell County and Washington County her entire life. She was a graduate of John S. Battle High School and Southwest Virginia Community College, where she received an Associates Degree in Business Administration. Clara was a retired secretary having worked several places over the years including Southwest Virginia Community College, Child Support Enforcement and Office Max. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and attended Greendale Chapel. Clara was a wonderful mother, grandmother and caring friend.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Billy D. Breeding of Abingdon; one son, Nathaniel Breeding and wife, Abigail of Dumfries, Va.; one sister, Loretta Dupree and husband, Cecil of Apex, N.C.; one brother, Harry “Dee” Booher II and wife, Sherry of Meadowview, Va.; three grandchildren, Kaylee, Aaron, and Adriana Breeding; her mother-in-law, Arizona Breeding; sister-in-law, Jean Breeding; aunt, Mary Fleenor and husband, Jackie; several nieces; lifetime friends, Betty Fuller, Beverly Wilson and Joni McNamara; and a host of special friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m., to 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 16, 2019, in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m., in the chapel with Rev. Jerry A. Eggers officiating.
