May 20, 1969—October 12, 2025
Abingdon, Virginia
“Chip” William Douglas McCall, 56, passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2025. He was born on May 20, 1969, to the late W.C. “Billy” and Shirley R. Debusk.
Chip dedicated over 20 years of service to the Abingdon Fire Department as an engineer and fireman. He was also a proud farmer and an avid collector of old cars, gas pumps, tractors, and Hot Wheels — a passion he enjoyed sharing with his grandchildren.
He was the founder of the Cruisin’ Classic Car Club of Abingdon and an active member of Lodge 48, the Washington County Shrine Club, and Hillbilly member of Jericho Temple. Chip also served as a Roadrunner for both Jericho and Kizam, a role that brought him great joy. He often said it was important to help the children as a small way of giving back. Each Christmas, he loved playing Santa — one of the many ways he brought smiles to those around him.
Farmer, fireman, and jack of all trades, Chip’s most cherished roles were husband, father, and “Pawpaw.” He loved making people smile everywhere he went and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. As Chip once said, “Only through the power of Jesus have I been able to accomplish all of these things.”
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandfather, W.C. “Bill” Debusk. Survivors include his loving wife, Kathy Crusenberry; daughter, Tabetha Crusenberry; son, Teddy Crusenberry; four beloved grandchildren, Noah, Colton, Catie, and Aaron; and his sister, Cindy Patterson.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at Trigg Street Church of God in Abingdon, Virginia. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 P.M. with Pastor Steve Vaughan officiating. Interment will follow at KnollKreg Mausoleum in Abingdon, Virginia.
