Charmie Arbutus Nunley Helton, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Charmie was born on November 12, 1941 to the late Dewey and Ethel Sanders Nunley.
Mrs. Helton loved to go camping with her family and friends while spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved cooking for her family and enjoying their time together during their Sunday dinners. She became a Christian at a young age and served the Lord faithfully as a member of Fletchers Chapel where she loved to sing.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the team at Caris Hospice.
Including her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Odis Nunley; son-in-law, Rocky Prater; and nephew, Kirby Nunley.
Survivors include her loving husband of 62 years, Wayne Helton; two children, Darrell and wife Marty Helton and Cindy Prater; four grandchildren, Natasha Whittaker and husband Brett, Amber Phillips and husband Brian, Ryan Prater and wife Cheyenne, and Shawn Helton and wife Jessica; twelve great grandchildren; nephew, Larry Nunley and wife Brenda; two nieces, Kathy Hunt and husband Allen, and Donna Nunley.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 20, 2023, at Knollkreg Memorial Park Mausoleum with Pastor Ronald Matney officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the mausoleum by 12:45 P.M.
