Charles Michael Puckett





Mike Puckett, age 76, passed away September 02, 2022 at The Blake in Kingsport, following a prolonged fight with Alzheimer’s.

A lifelong resident of Lebanon, VA, he graduated from the University of Tennessee and received his master’s degree at the University of Virginia. Mike served the Lebanon community and Russell County Schools with grace and dignity for over 40 years.

Mike was elected to five terms on the Russell County Board of Supervisors. He started his career as an educator in Brunswick County, Virginia before coming back to Russell County to serve as a teacher, principal, and supervisor before finishing his career as the Superintendent of Russell County Schools. He volunteered for the Lebanon Fire Department and in Lebanon Little League as a coach and board member. He was a man of great faith and an active member of Lebanon Community Fellowship.

Mike was preceded in death by his beloved wife Beverly, his father, Herman and mother, Lillian.

Survivors include his second wife, Marketta and stepson, Stephen Martin; sons, Matt Puckett and wife Susan, Steve Puckett and wife Amy, and Paul Puckett and wife Vaishali; grandkids, Jake, Ben, Emma Claire, Knox, Maddie, and Archie; brother, Phillip Puckett and wife Jeanette and sister, Ellen Haring and husband Ralph; his aunt, Caroline Kiser; as well as two generations of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Lebanon Community Fellowship on Sunday, September 04, 2022 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., to be followed by a memorial service at 7:00 P.M. The family will have a private burial service at Russell Memorial Cemetery. The family is served by Frost Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Joseph Puckett, John Puckett, Zac Ketron, Justin Matney, Bryon Helton, Scott Allen, and Shane Farmer.
