Chadwick Duane Long

Chadwick Duane Long, 48, passed away Monday, April 8, 2024, at Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, Tennessee.

He was born July, 21, 1975, in Abingdon, Virgina.   He was an avid fisherman and hunter who shared his love for the outdoors with everyone around him.

Chad was a former deputy with the Washington and Russell County Sheriff’s offices.   He was also an honorary member of the Abingdon Fire Department. 

He is survived by one son, Chandler Long; one daughter, Sadie Long; significant other, Antheia Chambers; stepson, Levi Chambers, stepdaughter, Lexi Hartley; special companion, Baron; his father, Glenn Long and wife Charlla; his mother, Pamela Hatfield; grandparents, Homer and Caralene White; brother, Brandon Perkins.   Chad is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.  

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at Alvarado Bible Church (21206 Alvarado Rd., Abingdon, Virginia, 24210) with Pastor Dwayne Dillard officiating.  The family will fellowship with friends in the Alvarado Bible Church Fellowship Hall immediately following the service.
